Coastal Clean – Up Drive: Yellow Day for a Change
The YES-O, with the help of volunteers and teachers, made an action to alleviate ocean trash problem through Coastal Clean –Up Drive which was conducted at Brgy. Capuluan Central Guinayangan, Quezon last September 21, 2019, 9:00 A.M.
Change has never been so inevitable. And that changes brought upon by people has caused adverse effects not only to human but far worse to marine animals. There are changes in our coastal area truly because of undisciplined and improper waste disposal and waste segregation. Coastal Clean –Up Drive aims to lessen the trash and waste in the seashore and to instill that all of us share the same responsibility to maintain and preserve the cleanliness of the ocean and its shore.
“I’m so happy to be part of this wonderful environmental activity. I felt so proud collecting and separating garbage because I realized that we can help the environment even in small ways. It’s not easy to make a change but it’s worth it”, Romel said. “Two is better than one” we can make changes by simply starting and doing it ourselves. Build a team that has bigger concern in the environment. Restoring the state of the environment cannot be done overnight by a single entity but together we can. One world one mission, and together, we can make a change.
